The first issue provides ideas to quickly improve the performance of your employees resulting in increased profits for the business. How To Maximize Your Employee ProductivityI recently came across a quote by Abraham Lincoln that really got my attention. I think it relates well to the training subject. It goes like this:
Just think for a moment how this relates to your own experience, or the experience working with your employees or subordinates. You can do your best to hire smart employees with Ability. But when it comes to Motivation and Attitude and even Ability, experience shows you can impact improvement. Sure there may be multiple ways to enhance these areas, but training is one avenue that has been proven to produce results. In order to meet new challenges in the workplace, even the best-educated employees need to increase and adapt their skills. "Training is absolutely the fundamental point of getting more productivity. The only way you could really improve anybody, other than improving the method of how they do the work, is to train them" says Gurminder Bedi, Director of Quality at Ford Motor Company. Training refers to improving an employee's knowledge, skills and attitudes so that he or she can do the job or take on more responsibility. All new employees (or current employees in new jobs) should be trained. Cross training prepares an employee for a job normally handled by someone else. Also, training is advisable when new processes, equipment or procedures are introduced into the workplace. If an employee has been off work for more than 30 days, training may be needed. Rhode Island boasts some of the most aggressive employment and training tax credit programs in the nation. The RI Job Training Tax Credit Program encourages businesses to upgrade the skills of their existing workforce by offering credits of up to $5,000 per employee over three years. For more information about the program you can request a copy of our free report: The Bottom Line On Training Tax Credits. The state of Rhode Island has clearly bought into this argument by making training credits available to those RI businesses that qualify. It is safe to assume they are not throwing away the tax dollars. The objective of the program is to invest in local businesses, helping them grow to produce future returns. Yes, the $30,000 in tax credits the insurer has received over the last two years was the main reason the firm started using ProfitPoint's TracTax service when it enrolled in the state's Job Training Tax Credit program. But for Mastors and Servant:
If you want to enhance the productivity of your valued employees, training is a great way to start. What areas of your business would you like to get paid to improve? |
